With a House Of The Dragon set to hit the screen sometime in 2022, players are probably wondering if new content will be added to a Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming. Every time something new is about to be released that concerns a popular franchise (be it a book, a movie or a series), you can bet the internet will buzz with speculation. There are always people who come up with obscure underlying plots or crazy theories (you have but to think of Star Wars to picture what I mean).

 

 

House Of The Dragon is set 200 years before the events of the actual Game of Thrones and it chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the “Dance of the Dragons” (wiki). Anyone that’s been a fan of the first series will assuredly be super pumped for this prequel. I, for one, just can’t wait to see how this turns out. I’m hoping for even more dragons and the usual GoT betrayals!

 

What this might also imply is new content for a Game of Thrones: Winter is Coming. I bet players are excited to see if the release of the prequel will bring new things to the table, be it new commanders or any kind of new game mechanic being added to the game. I could picture some Targaryen key figures making it as commander (King Viserys or Princess Rhaenyra for instance) or even a game mode that focuses exclusively on fighting while riding dragons.

 

 

Maybe the designers at Yoozoo Games will decide otherwise. It might very well be that the 200 years that separate the two periods will have them pass on mixing up the two eras. I, for one, think that it would be a shame if they decide to pass on this amazing opportunity. I always get super stoked when a game I play and love gets upgraded with new stuff. Crossing fingers!
