Hey fellow gamers, it’s time to put streamers and garlands on the walls, to inflate balloons and bake a multi-layered cake - Genshin Impact is about to turn one year old! In order to celebrate one year of prosperous gaming and to thank those responsible for the game’s success (you the players), the team at miHoYo have come up with a bunch of “one year anniversary community events”. You have but to look at the list of giveaways to realize that this is a party everyone will be wanting to attend!

 

The celebration starts on September 1st with a Photo Submission Contest called “The Promise of a Worldly Encounter”. For this event, you are encouraged to submit your best in-game screenshots. Two more events bearing the same name will start on September 16th, one being a Fan Art Submission Contest and the other being a Video Submission Contest. The Promise of a Worldly Encounter events will close up with a Cosplay Submission Contest, starting on September 22nd and ending on October 20th. 

 

 

Starting on September 28th, you will be able to attend an event called “An Unforgettable Journey” where you will be able to watch a recollection of your in-game story. The “A Message in Time” event starts on September 29th: this event will allow you to create your own anniversary cards. There is also an Art Repost Prize Giveaway, a “Let’s Solve World Puzzles” event and a “Recording Your Anniversary Memories” event. 

 

Every event has its own list of rewards, some of which are pretty amazing. Besides the in-game stuff that you can win (a Blessing of a Welkin Moon, Primogems and random characters), you might win an iPhone 13, Apple AirPods, an Apple iPad 10.2 or even a Razor DeathAdder V2 mouse. When I think of Genshin Impact, I think of a game that is rapidly growing. It’s almost as if the devs at miHoYo are never sleeping. Since its release on September 28th of 2020, the game has seen 8 updates, with a ninth that is about to hit. These updates have populated the game with new characters, new weapons, new quests, new monsters, new areas, new harvestable resources, new achievements (and so on), while keeping the game clean by fixing bugs and doing some optimization. No wonder the game is doing so well!
