Genshin Impact is a game that has a huge number of characters, and one that fans were extremely anxious to get their hands on was Xiao. He is a character that you crossed paths with during the main storyline, and when first presented, players went crazy and couldn’t wait for the chance to finally play as him. It took some time, but he was finally released, and he was worth the wait. So if you were lucky enough to be able to get him, and you have no idea what weapons and artifacts are good for him, then you’re in the right place. Here you will discover what are some great builds for him, and how to turn Xiao into an amazing DPS.

Weapons

Xiao wields a polearm to fight against his enemies, and here are some of the best ones for you to equip him with. Some of these weapons can only be acquired by doing wishes, but it is ok if you don’t have them, as other weapons can be acquired as a reward from the battle pass, by buying it with star glitter, and even in chests.

The best current weapon for Xiao is the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. This weapon is perfect for him, as it increases his attack by 3.2% for 6 seconds for every hit, and it can be stacked seven times. If you have the seven stacks, your maximum damage dealt is increased by 12%. This weapon will make Xiao’s attacks stronger, and it is perfect for dealing a huge amount of damage in a short time. However, this is a five-star weapon that can only be acquired by performing wishes. But if you don’t have it, some other weapons are also great for Xiao.

The Staff Of Homa is also a five-star that can only be acquired by performing wishes, but if you have it, you can use it on your Xiao. This polearm increases HP by 20% and grants an attack bonus based on 0.8% of the character’s max HP. And if your HP is less than 50%, it increases an extra 1% attack bonus of your max HP. This also works for Xiao, since while using his elemental burst Bane Of All Evil, he will be constantly losing HP, so the bonus for when your health is lower than 50% is great for him.

If you have some star glitter to waste, you can buy the Blackcliff Pole, a weapon that increases your attack by 12% after defeating an enemy, and this can be stacked three times. Each stack lasts for 30 seconds. If you always manage to keep three stacks, that means your attack is increased by 36%. This is a pretty good boost, and it will help you defeat your enemies faster, making it easier for you to keep the stacks always maxed out.

You can acquire the Deathmatch as a battle pass reward. This polearm also works with Xiao, as it grants the user a 16% increase in attack and defense if there are more than two enemies nearby, and if there is only one enemy, it will instead give a 24% attack bonus. This weapon helps to keep Xiao alive when facing more than one enemy, and when going one-on-one, gives an extra boost to his attack.

If you have any of these four weapons, your Xiao will be able to do amazing during combat, and his damage output will be huge. But in case you’re still new to the game, and you just got Xiao, you can equip him with the White Tassel, it is a three-star weapon that can be found in chests around the world, and it increases the damage of your normal attack by 24%.

Artifacts

Now that we’re done with the weapons, here are some of the best artifacts for you to use with your Xiao. As you might have noticed, he is a character whose focus is to deal a lot of damage. So for his artifacts, it is important to equip him with something that increases his anemo damage, and his attack. So the best artifacts that can give him that are Viridescent Venerer, and the Gladiator’s Finale.

You can choose to either use the whole set of any of these two, or you can mix it up and equip two of each. If you equip the full set of the Gladiator’s Finale, it will give you an attack bonus of 18%, and it increases the normal attack of polearms, sword, and claymore users by 35%. And if you use only two of them, it will give you only the 18% attack bonus.  The Viridescent Venerer set gives you a 15% bonus anemo damage, it decreases your opponent’s elemental resistance to the element infused in the swirl by 40%, and also increases your swirl damage by 60%. And if you use only two of them, only the 15% bonus anemo damage will be applied. And in case you’re not that far into the game, and still don’t have access to these artifacts, you can use the Berserker artifacts until you can get some better artifacts. The set increases your crit rate by 15%, and if when your health is below 70% it increases your crit rate by an extra 24%.

Now, for the stats of the artifacts, the best ones are attack % for the sand, either anemo damage bonus or attack % for the goblet, and either attack % or energy recharge rate for the circlet. If possible all of these stats are also amazing for the substats.

In Conclusion

Xiao is an amazing character and one of the best characters in the game so far. He is a great DPS, and also has a lot of mobility during combat. However, he does have some weaknesses, he loses a lot of health during fights, so your team will need to have characters to be able to assist him by either healing him or giving him shields. But even with that, he still is an amazing choice for a DPS.

Hopefully, this helped you, and you are now prepared to go and make your Xiao a monster on the battlefield.
